Thompson Boat Center, located on the Potomac River, is the premier center of Sculling Education in the DC metro area. We introduce approximately 400 prospective rowers to the art of sculling each year and are looking to expand our program. We now offer Learn-to-Scull programs for Juniors, mixed groups and to those over 50. Refresher classes are offered on alternate Saturdays beginning in late April running through July. We are looking to expand to Intermediate Level and Advanced instruction as well. Coaches are also offered the opportunity to work one-on-one with scullers in a private lesson setting. Classes are held during the following times: M-F 6:15-7:45 AM and 5:45-7:15 PM; M,W,F 9:45-11:15; SA 8-9:30.

We are a mixed use facility offering canoe, kayak, bicycle and shell rental as well. Part time or full time employment in our rental operation is also a possibility. Our rental and instructional season runs from mid-April through October.

Qualifications: 3 or more years of Sculling experience and an understanding of all facets of rowing. The ability to work patiently with an ever changing, diverse group of students. Launch driving experience and boaters certification, first aid and CPR certification all preferred.
